Laid out in Ashford, Co. Wicklow, Mount Usher is regarded as perhaps the loveliest garden in Ireland. It offers a pre-eminent plant collection to be explored along the curving backs of the River Vartry. The following sequence of photographs are my personal favourites from several hours spent in the gardens on a lovely summer’s day – a rarity in the Irish summer of 2011!
Finally in this section, to show that sometimes you don’t have to travel far to see something of interest, I discovered that the pine tree in our front garden sports these beautifully coloured cones.
Great stuff John, the blades of grass with the water droplets, and the pine cone in particular were very striking, but all excellent.
