Mount Usher Re-opens
About 20 minutes drive from where I live is Mount Usher Gardens. It is one the most beautiful gardens in Ireland and it is fitting that it is located within Co. Wicklow – the ‘Garden of Ireland’. The gardens close to the public each year at the end of October and re-open in early spring. I paid my first visit of the year there yesterday. The gardens require repeat visits throughout the year to fully appreciate all they have to offer as the seasons change. To that end, I picked up a season ticket which will have paid for itself by my third visit – great value altogether.
You can read more about the gardens by visit their website here -> Mount Usher Gardens
I will create further posts from Mount Usher as the year goes on so you can see how it changes. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy these early season shots I took yesterday.
Lovely photos John, stunning. Mount Usher has been a definite ‘must do’ on my to-do-list for the past few years. I must do it this year!! Thanks for sharing, you’ve just put right on top of my list 😉
Thanks Val. The gardens should be looking really good from May onwards. I also recommend a visit during late October before it closes for the winter – the autumn colours are usually pretty amazing.
Beautiful set John. I’ve stayed in Wicklow on a few holidays, but there’s so much to see I still haven’t been here or Powerscourt, except for the waterfall. Even more determined to go there now.
