Bray Airshow 2015

It’s July and that means festival time in my hometown of Bray. Due to local political shenanigans, the Summerfest has been significantly down-scaled this year, which is a great pity. One event that survived (and hopefully will continue to thrive in future years) is the now annual Bray Air Show. Typically held on the 3rd Sunday of July, it attracts a huge number of visitors to the town. While some locals head for the hills to avoid the chaos, I choose to embrace it. I love airplanes and the sight of so many and varied aircraft putting on a show at the seafront is always a thrill to see.

Now if you are expecting to see lots of shots of airplanes in this post, you’ve stopped by at the wrong time. For the past couple of years, I’ve met up at this event with a group of street photographers to which I belong – and the agenda is to leave the long lenses at home and take candid photos of people on the day. So that’s what you’ll see in this post – a selection of my people shots from the day. Ok – there’s one photo of a helicopter and a flock of birds – but other than that …….. 🙂
